How many of you just want to go out and grab a cute shirt that on sale and then you get home and it is too low cut or too short or when you bend down anyone who is standing beside you can see, well, a little too much! I hate those moments! For me, I just have the hardest finding a tank top for going under clothes that are too low cut or for finding a swimsuit, finding shorts, and even finding just a
tee-shirt or a pair of jeans. (Maybe it is just me ,but I have the hardest time:) Lately I have read a lot about modesty and have realized that you have to have the attitude of a modest heart in order to look modest. Yes you can wear sweatshirts and sweatpants and be modest, but what will your heart and attitude be? After examining my heart , I have realized that I was being modest because I knew that is what Christians should do but my heart was not in the right place. I wanted people to see me. We all want people to notice us don't we?(Even guys!:) But we have to remember that God says not to make sin. Meaning don't dress immodestly to make other eyes drawn to where they shouldn't be. So here are some tips for being modest:
1)Read stuff about modesty from different books. A few are: A)"Lies Young Women Believe"and their blog. B)And of course the Bible.
2)Pray
3)Ask your parents if they think what your wearing is modest enough and ask you friends. You can send me pictures to if you want and I can also answer yuor questions.
Tips for finding modesty:
1)Go to the workout section and you can find some pretty modest tank tops there.
2)You can buy different colored sport bras and put those under some low-cut shirts.
3)Make your shorts! Buy a pair of cheap jeans and cut them a little lower than what you want them to be,fold the ends up and sew them.
4)Buy a shirt that is 2-3x's bigger than what you normally wear and put some leggings underneath and a tank top.
5)Go thrift store shopping! You can find great stuff for really cheap and alot of modest stuff there too!A couple of weeks ago I went thrift store shopping with my family and I got 7 pairs of jeans,5-7 shirts ,a few tank tops, shoes and jewelry, and a few extra things all under $50 an these were all really nice stuff. (I remember praying before asking God to help me find stuff that I needed. I only had 1 pair of jeans and I couldn't afford to buy new ones. And He answered my prayer!)
Now I know it isn't easy to be modest, but you can do it.
If you have any more questions just ask!
