Last school year my sister and I had to memorize the while book of James from the Bible. About 5 chapters. Though I did not really enjoy it then and I don't remember about half of it I still remember these verses that really stuck out to me and lately I have remembered them. They have encouraged me in a way. Though it does not say that God will take away the pain physically or emotionally it does say that my faith will grow through trials if I trust God. Here are the verses and I pray that they will be able to speak to you as well. Also, try memorizing these verses. They have came to mind when I have needed them most and I have been able to pray theses verses.
James 1:2-4~
Count it all joy my brothers when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

ReplyDeleteI am VERY, VERY impressed. Scripture memory is one of the most difficult tasks that one can do. When I was young, it was more popular. Today, it is almost unheard of. You will never regret doing it. "Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee." -David
Last winter I memorized Psalm 51. Not nearly as long as James but it's a start. Do it when your young and your brain still works. :)
