As I was reading in my Bible this morning I relized something. One of the commandments God gives us is to "Honor you father and mother," but I always gave the thought of that it just meant that you obey your parents.(In Ephesians 6:1, it does say that you should obey. "Children, obey your parents in the Lord for this is right.") I relized that there are many times that I obey my parents by doing what they tell me to do or not to do but I don't always honor them in my heart. It is hard for me to do something somtimes without grumbeling or complaining inside. I would encourage you to search your heart and pray and ask God if you are honoring you parents. I love my parents very much even if I don't like some of their decisions. Here are the verses where the commandments are:
Exodus 20:12
"Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you."
Ephesians 6:2
"Honor your father and mother"(This is the first commandment with a promise.)
