Washing feet and serving

As my mom and my sister and I were doing a Bible study together we studied when Jesus washes his  disciples feet. And that was before he dies on the cross and was betrayed by people. Well , he knew that some of his disciples were going to betray him but he still washed their feet. He took off his outer robe, got down on his knees,and probably got wet and washed other peoples feet!(YUCK!) Now I think that is what you would call serving. It made me think of what I could do serving others.  Then there are times when I don't want to serve but I remember the verse in Matthew where it says that Jesus came not to be serve but to serve and give his life as a ransom to many. I want to be like that. That has been one of my prayers for awhile. I would encourage you to read John 13.
