Easter and Idols

WOW!!! I can hardly believe that Easter is in about 2 weeks! It seems as if Christmas was 2 weeks ago. As the time get closer I see a lot more of the chocolate eggs , jelly beans, Easter bunnies, colorful baskets and candy and just a bunch of other stuff. But that is not what Easter is about. Easter is when Jesus died on the cross to take away our sins and rose again 3 days after defeating death. And I believe that. I am not saying that all the candy and bunnies and all that stuff is bad but when we don't have our main focus on God and what happened 2,000 years ago it is easy to get distracted. God says not to have any idols. You may not be bowing down to the Easter bunny but if  that is your main focus then it is becoming an idol. I would encourage you to read in Matthew chapters 26-28 and focus on them . Now please remember that Easter egg hunts and chocolate (I like chocolate a lot :) and candy and all that stuff is not bad but it should not be our main focus. Ask God to have him help you keep your eyes on him and to worship him above all else. Have good week:)
